Wayne Rooney World Cup betting
Wayne Rooney was born 24/10/1985 which means he will go to the World Cup aged just 24, meaning he still has his best years ahead of him. He stands 5 feet 10 inches (1.78m) tall and despite not being the tallest of players he has quite incredible strength on the ball. Wayne Rooney is noted as much for his passion and work rate as he is his skill on the ball. He will be one of the most explosive players at the World Cup and there is little doubt that England's chance rely on him heavily.
Wayne Rooney started his career with Everyon, joining the Toffees when he was just ten years old. Rooney made his first team debut aged just 16 and became the youngest scorer of a Premier League goal when he scored against Arsenal in October 2002, five days before his 17th birthday. He ended up playing thierty three times that year and scored six goals.
Wayne Rooney went on to score fifteen goals in sixty seven games for Everton and he then requested a move after Everton were almost relegated in 2004. Newcastle almost snatched him but Rooney eventually joined Manchester United in August 2004 for over £25m, with Rooney still just 18 years old.
Rooney started his Man Utd career with a bang, scoring a hat trick on his debut in a Champions League match against Fenerbahce. He ended up Man Utd's top league scorer that season with eleven goals and was awarded PFA Young player Of The Year.
He once again improved his goalscoring ratio in the 05/06 season with sixteen goals in thirty six league games and the following season scored slightly less with fourteen league goals, but he did score twenty three goals in total which meant he was the club's joint top scorer alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rooney has continued his progression each season and has now scored almost one hundred goals in a Man Utd shirt in the league. Over the past season he has proved he can be Man Utd's main goal threat following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure and has arguably had his best season yet leading up to the World Cup.
Wayne Rooney made his international debut in February 2003 and in doing so became the youngest player ever to play for England and he then went on to become England's youngest goalscorer.
Wayne Rooney continued to break records when he went to Euro 2004 and became the youngest player to score in the competition when scoring past Switzerland. England went out of that competition against portugal, a game in which Wayne Rooney had to go off early with an injury.
Wayne Rooney played no part in Euro 2008 as England failed to qualify but he has flourished under Fabio Capello, scoring nine goals in nine qualifying games.
Wayne Rooney Golden Boot odds
Wayne Rooney has proved this season that he can be an out and out goalscorer and as usual there will be a massive gamble on him to be top scorer in the competition. He is already one of the favourites and he will be hoping to score plenty of goals against USA, Algeria and Slovenia in the group stage. His chances of being World Cup Golden Boot may be compromised if England go out of the World Cup as early as they have in recent years, but the World Cup draw means England should avoid Brazil until the semi final and Spain until the World Cup final.
Rooney's style of play means he is sure to catch the eye, he tends to get involved in every aspect of player and you would struggle to find a player who works harder than the Man Utd forward. As long as England don't go out early he stands a major chance of being crowned the World Cup Player Of The Tournament.
